Our network is well-characterised, with 14 RWD sources located across Europe representing hospital data, general practitioner records, registries and more. Becoming a member enables participation in multi-database studies which enables comprehensive post-marketing surveillance of vaccines.

Many of the tools used in VAC4EU studies were developed by VAC4EU members or are already open source, providing the opportunity to improve them over time as the VAC4EU network matures and consolidates learnings. While VAC4EU primarily conducts studies upon request from market authorisation holders or in response to grant applications from European organisations, we also fund our own methodological research. Each year, we open a call for bottom-up funding through our working groups and offer competitive fellowships and top-down funding opportunities. These represent a unique opportunity to leverage the resources VAC4EU has access to for methodological research.

Beyond conducting studies, the VAC4EU community is an open forum for scientific debate on vaccine-related topics. We manage four core working groups dedicated to support and scientific advancement. Each of the working groups also host taskforces where members may focus on specific topics and discussions.

As a VAC4EU member you will contribute to how we shape our network, forming part of our governance. Members are welcome to attend twice yearly General Assembly meetings for scientific, strategic and financial discussions.
