Registration for the next Journal Club session has opened. Scheduled for 26 February, Sabrina Giometto will present the paper, “Developing and Refining the Pregnancy Algorithm CErtaInty Tool (ACE-IT) for Validating Pregnancy Outcomes” (Singh et al, 2025; Clinical Pharmacology & Therapeutics), which describes how the authors honed the ACE-IT to address pregnancy-related outcomes. The session will have the following learning objectives:
- Explore how to evaluate whether an algorithm is fit-for-purpose in a regulatory decision context;
- Discuss key challenges in identifying and validating pregnancy and birth outcomes using RWD;
You will need to register for the event to attend. We hope to see you there!

Sabrina is Research Fellow at the University of Florence. An economic statistician by training, Sabrina recently earned a PhD in Clinical and Translational Sciences from the University of Pisa, Italy, with a thesis focused on the secondary use of data sources in pharmacoepidemiology. She also completed a specialisation in Healthcare Statistics and Biometrics at the University of Pisa, Italy. She has been working in pharmacoepidemiology for seven years, recently focusing on algorithms for identifying pregnancies and related outcomes with secondary use of data sources.
