SeValid

Validation study of the identification of cases of myocarditis and/or anaphylaxis by accessing medical charts of the biggest Tuscan hospital (SeValid)

Member organisation ARS Toscana proposed bottom-up funding for this methodological study. The project applies a novel methodology developed in the ConcePTION project aimed at estimating sensitivity of ‘narrow’ algorithms through the estimation of positive predictive value of ‘possible’ algorithms. The estimation of sensitivity of the algorithms used to estimate AESI background rates from real world data is crucial to avoid false positives in expected-to-observed analysis when spontaneous reports are used to calculate observed rates.
