CodeMapper

In electronic healthcare databases the coding systems used to specify diagnoses, procedures and treatments in encounters are often different. CodeMapper was developed during ADVANCE as a single tool which would map concepts from the Unified Medical Language System to the codes in each coding system. This web-based application facilitates semiautomatic mapping with a knowledge system to capture decisions, without the need for detailed insight on the vocabularies used in the RWD sources.

As the sustainability solution for ADVANCE, VAC4EU has further developed CodeMapper. The Code List TF works together with the developers to update the tool in accordance with methodological advancements and the needs of the network, including improved accuracy and compliance, tagging, interactive review, updating vocabularies, and allowing avoidance of error prone procedures.
